Sealed Bids for the Swimming Pool Improvements – Phase II, Contract 19-1, will be received by the City of Benwood at the City Building located at 430 Main Street; Benwood, West Virginia 26031 until 11:00 a.m. (local time) September 19, 2019, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.
The Work covered by the Contract Documents includes the following:
Swimming Pool Improvements – Phase II, Contract 19-1
Modifications to the existing pool house including renovating the existing interior and exterior, new roof, new bathroom facilities, mechanical work, new lighting, new sidewalks, and completion of concrete deck remaining from Swimming Pool Improvements – Phase I, Contract 18-1.

Per the requirements of the Article 21-11-11 of the Code of the State of West Virginia, any Contractor submitting a Bid on this project will be required to certify, indicate, and acknowledge that he/she has a Contractor’s license from the State of West Virginia and meets all the qualifications required by the statutes of the State of West Virginia and the subdivision in which the Work is to be performed.
Per the requirements of the Article 21-1D-5 of the Code of the State of West Virginia, any Contractor submitting a bid for a public improvement construction contract shall provide an affidavit of compliance that the Contractor has a written plan for a drug-free workplace policy. Failure to complete the Drug Free Workplace Conformance Affidavit Form shall result in disqualification of the Bid.
A cashiers’ check payable to “City of Benwood” or a Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and a Surety Company approved by City of Benwood in the amount equal to five percent (5{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c}) of the Bid, shall be submitted with each Bid, to guarantee the Bidder’s entrance into a Contract, if given the award.
The City of Benwood reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and is not necessarily bound to accept the lowest Bid if that Bid is contrary to the best interest of City of Benwood. The City of Benwood reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities in the Bidding.
