Notice is hereby given that MABEN COAL LLC, ONE CARBON CENTER, 13905 MACCORKLE AVENUE, SUITE 501, CHARLESTON, WV 25315 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 21 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number U301911 to Operate an underground mine in the Pocahontas No. 3 seam of coal.
The operation is discharging into Left Fork of Allen Creek of Guyandotte River and is located 1.6 miles west of Helen in Slab Fork District of Raleigh and Wyoming County(s), Longitude 81deg. 20′ 35.0000″ and Latitude 37deg. 37′ 51.0000″ (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or request for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until November 22, 2019, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication. A copy of the application will be available for review until November 22, 2019, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication in the DEP Regional Office located at the address above AND in the Raleigh and Wyoming County(s) Clerks’ Offices during normal business hours.
