Painting Job Specifications
*Mandatory pre-bid meeting and building walkthrough is scheduled for November 14, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. – Sistersville Elementary and will proceed to Arthur I. Boreman afterwards.
*The bid opening is scheduled for November 22, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. – Tyler County Board of Education, 114 Dodd Street, Middlebourne, WV 26149.
*Painting projects must be completed prior to June 30, 2020.
*This is not a bonded project.
*Prevailing wage is not a requirement.
*All permits and fees are the responsibility of the vendor.
*Provide one price for the ceilings, walls and frame work per numbered area.
*No Tyler County lifts may be utilized in completion of these projects.
*All floors must be covered to eliminate spillage, over spray and/or other damage.
*All floors especially the gym floors must be protected from lifts, scaffolding, ladders and/or any other equipment.
*Air returns mounted to the walls are to be painted the same color as the walls.
*The gymnasium wall mats are to be masked off, protected, and painted around.
*Roof support structures are to be painted along with all backboards supports.
*Miscellaneous caulking, cracks and holes must be filled.
*Door and window frames are to be painted a contrasting color (TBD).
*All areas are to be cleaned and free of all foreign materials.
*Sprinkler heads are to be protected. SPRINKLER HEADS ARE NOT TO BE PAINTED. All sprinkler heads damaged (painted) during this project are to be replaced at the vendor’s expense. This will be determined by the West Virginia Fire Marshal’s office.
*Paint must be one component, water based, latex, epoxy semi- gloss. All paint and materials are to be supplied by the vendor. Two coats are to be applied.

All sealed bids are to be submitted at the vendor’s expense.
Bidders must submit their bids and/or proposals prior to the date and time of the bid opening in the format prescribed by the Tyler County Board of Education. Substitutions for the prescribed format are acceptable only if the substituted terms, conditions, and/or provisions have been approved in advance by Tyler County Board of Education.
Tyler County Board of Education may reject any or all bids and solicit new bids on the project.
