ROAD, ELK RIDGE, WV 25161 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 629.83 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number S602089 to Coal Surface Mine in the Kittanning, Clarion, Stockton, Coalburg, Winifrede Chilton and all splits seam of coal.
The operation is discharging into Laurel Branch, Sycamore Branch, and Unnamed Tributaries of/and Paint Creek, Laurel Branch and Unnamed Tributaries of Armstrong Creek all of Kanawha River and is located 3.0 miles southwest of POWELLTON in VALLEY / CABIN CREEK District of Fayette / Kanawha County, Longitude 81deg. 20′ 53.0000″ and Latitude 38deg. 3′ 11.0000″ (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until February 15, 2020, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication. A copy of the application will be available for review until February 15, 2020, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication in the DEP Regional Office located at the address above AND in the Fayette, / Kanawha County Clerk’s Office(s) during normal business hours.
