NOTICE OF PROPOSED CONVEYANCE
OF UNITED METHODIST CHURCH PROPERTY
(Clouston United Methodist Church)
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church will, on or after March 4, 2020 QUITCLAIM, GRANT and CONVEY to Clouston Cemetery Association, all of their right, title and interest, in and to a certain tract of land situate at Clouston, in Cameron District, Marshall County, West Virginia, and bounded and described as follows, to-wit:
Beginning at an iron pin bottom on west side of U.S. Highway 250, said iron pin being located S. 24*oo’ E. 82 feet from the southeast corner of the M. E. Church and being also located S. 40* 00′ E. 99 feet from the southwest corner of said Church; thence with Edward Woodstuff S. 69* 00′ W. 175.70 feet to a stake; thence continuing said course with Woodstuff S. 69* 00′ W. 152.62 feet to an iron pin on the south side of the CloustonLoudenville County Road; thence leaving Woodstuff, crossing said road and running with a fence along the west side of cemetery and with land remaining to Mueller N. 20* 00′ E. 347 feet to a corner post; thence with land remaining to Mueller and with fence along the north side cemetery S. 66* 00′ E. 223.19 feet to a point in the Woodstuff line; thence with said line S. 7* 45′ W. 118.73 feet to the place of beginning; containing 1.268 acres, more or less, according to a survey made August 11, 1961, by Gordon W. Sammons, C.E.
And being the same property conveyed to George E. Fletcher, Harry E. Fletcher, William H. Cumpston, Sr., Bennie H. Ward and L. E. Weekley, as Trustees of the Clouston Methodist Episcopal Church by deed dated August 19, 1961 from Beulah G. Mueller and Frits Mueller, her husband, John R. Mueller and Stella D. Mueller, his wife, Fritzie Manson and William Manson, her husband, and of record in the Office of the Clerk of the County Commission of Marshall County, West Virginia in Deed Book No. 352, at page 84.
Said Clouston United Methodist Church was declared closed effective on November 1, 2019 by resolution dated October 17, 2019 adopted by a majority of the District Superintendents of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church and the District Board of Church Location.
