Clay County Schools Clay County High School ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID The Clay County Board of Education will receive sealed bids on a general contract for Renovations and an Addition to Clay County High School in Clay, West Virginia. Bids will be received in the offices of the Clay County Board of Education, 285 Church Street, Clay, WV 25043, until 1:30 pm, local time on June 2, 2020. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud at that time. Because of the Governor’s Declaration of a State of Emergency due to the COVID-19 virus, a pre-bid meeting will not be held for this project. Contractors interested in bidding this project should contact Chapman Technical Group to obtain pre-bid information. Bidding documents may be obtained from Chapman Technical Group, for a nonrefundable fee of $250.00 per set. Fee includes shipping and handling. Successful bidder will be provided with 3 sets at no charge and additional sets for the cost of printing and shipping. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, made payable to the owner, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid, in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The bidder to whom the contract is awarded shall execute and deliver to the owner within 7 days after the award, and before signing the contract, a corporate surety bond in a sum equal to at least the contract sum, and the cost of such bond shall be paid by the bidder. Pursuant to WV Code 21-11-11, Bidders are hereby notified that a current and valid WV Contractor’s License Number shall accompany their bid proposal in order for their bid to be considered. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, the right to waive minor informalities and procedures in bidding, and the right to withhold final award of contract for 60 days after opening bids.
