Notice is hereby given that Marfork Coal Company, LLC, 370 Packsville/Marfork Road, P.O. Box 457, Whitesville, WV 25209 has submitted an application to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840 for a significant permit revision (IOBR) to Article 3 permit number U300118 in order to add underground mining reserve area and three proposed ventilation shafts and infrequently used access roads resulting in an additional 28.95 acres of permit area, bringing the total permit area to 38.57 acres. This advertisement is being ran to correct the location of the proposed added permit area on the Location Map. All other information remains unchanged.
The revised permit will discharge into Marsh Fork and Elk Run, Big Jarrells Creek of Hopkins Fork, Browns Branch of West Fork of Pond Fork of Little Coal River, all of Big Coal River of Coal River of Kanawha River and is located 2.0 miles southwest of Whitesville in Marsh Fork District of Raleigh County and Sherman and Crook Districts of Boone County, W.Va. Longitude 81deg.32’18” and Latitude 37deg.57’21” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).
