INVITATION TO BID Sealed bids for Asbestos Abatement by qualified contractors to support Construction of the Additions and Renovations to the Kanawha County Public Library Main Branch, will be received electronically by submitting all requested work to Erika Connelly, Library Director ([email protected]) with copy sent to Dave Pray ([email protected]) by Wednesday, July 15 until 2:00 pm. All complete bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in an electronic meeting by Zoom or similar format with invitation to all bidders and the interested public. All Bids must be submitted in accordance with the Bidding Documents issued by the Owner Kanawha County Public Library. Bidding Documents may be obtained upon request to KCPL’s environmental consultant: Chris Belcher, Project Manager Pinnacle Environmental Consultants, Inc. 486 Old State Route 74 Cincinnati, Ohio 45244 Phone 513.533.1823 The project involves asbestos abatement to support the current site developments, construction of new 3 and 4 story additions to the existing building, and renovations to the existing building known as 123 Capitol Street, Charleston, Kanawha County, West Virginia. Bidders interested in submitting bids shall contact Chris Belcher. Email Bid Package requests to Chris Belcher [email protected] and a Bid Package will be sent out. There is no deposit required for Bid Packages and all printing costs incurred by bidders are the responsibility of the bidders and are non-refundable. A certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total Bid, or a satisfactory Bid Bond furnished by a solvent surety company authorized to do business in the state of West Virginia in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total Bid must be submitted with each Bid. The successful Bidder will be required to execute a contract and provide a Performance Bond, a Labor and Material Payment Bond for 100% of the contract award. All Bidders and any Subcontractors of a Bidder shall be licensed in compliance with WV Code Section 21-11-11 and other provisions of the WV Contractor’s Licensing Act. All Bidders shall provide a copy of their WV Contractor’s license and include their license number in the space provided on the Bid Form. A Pre-Bid meeting will be held on Friday, July 10, 2020, at 2:00 pm in the plaza of the library, 123 Capitol Street, Charleston, West Virginia 25301. Bidders are advised the site is an active construction site and proper PPE must be worn including face mask relative to COVID19. All bidders should attend the Pre-Bid meeting to familiarize themselves with the project location, site conditions, and other relevant information.
