Notice is hereby given that POCAHONTAS COAL COMPANY LLC, 109 APPALACHIAN DR,, BECKLEY, WV 25801 has submitted an application to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840, for a significant permit revision to Article 3 Permit Number O300616 in order to add approximately 3.87 acres to raise the crest elevations of Fill E and Fill F from 2490 feet up to 2540 feet. The expansion is within 100 feet of Raleigh County Route 12/9, Mile 0.28 to Mile 0.42 (a public hearing may be requested).
The revised permit will discharge into Unnamed Tributaries of/and Soak Creek of Piney Creek of New River of Kanawha River of KANAWHA RV and is located 0.4 miles, southeast of Midway, in the Town/Slab Fork District of Raleigh County, Longitude 81o 14′ 02″ and Latitude 37o 42′ 38″ (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).
