Notice is hereby given that REPUBLIC ENERGY, LLC, P. O. BOX 69, PAX, WV 25904 has submitted an application to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Division of Mining and Reclamation (DMR) located at 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840, for an Article 3 permit for the surface disturbance of approximately 1112.75 acres in order to surface mine with highwall mining and augering in the 2 Gas — Kanawha; Cedar Grove — Kanawha; Chilton—Kanawha; Chilton A—Kanawha; Chilton RDR—Kanawha; Coalburg—Kanawha; Eagle—Kanawha; Eagle – Ltl—Kanawha; Eagle A—Kanawha; Peerless—Kanawha; Powellton—Kanawha; Stockton—Kanawha; Winifrede – Lwr—Kanawha; Winifrede – U—Kanawha seam of coal.
The proposed operation is discharging into Unnamed Tributaries of/and Milburn Creek, unnamed tributaries of/and Bishop Fork all of Paint Creek and LIck Branch of/and Left Fork of White Oak Creek of Clear Fork of the Big Coal River ot the Coal River all of the Kanawha River of KANAWHA RV and is located 4 miles northeast of Clear Fork, WV in Clear Fork District of Raleigh County, Longitude 81deg. 18′ 31″ and Latitude 37deg. 56′ 51″ (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the surface mining application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until April 3 , 2021, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication. A copy of the application will be available for review until April 3, 2021, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication in the DEP Regional Office located at the address above and is available at:
