LEGAL NOTICE Pursuant to WV Code 7-14-1 et seq. and the Kanawha County Deputy Sheriff’s Civil Service Commission Regulations 4.01-4.11, the Kanawha County Deputy Sheriff’s Civil Service Commission announces that vacancies exist in the position of Kanawha County Deputy Sheriff. These positions shall be filled by appointment from the list of eligibles. To be placed on the list of eligibles, one must do the following: 1) Submit an application to the Kanawha County Clerk’s Office by no later than Friday, March 5, 2021 at 4:00 pm. Applications may be obtained at the Kanawha County Clerk’s Office at 409 Virginia Street (Kanawha County Courthouse), Charleston, WV 25301. An applicant must be no younger than 18 nor no older than 45 on the date the application is submitted; 2) Successfully complete the Physical Ability Test, which shall be given Saturday, March 20, 2021, 9:00 a.m. at South Charleston High School, South Charleston, WV. 3) Successfully complete the written test, which shall be given Saturday, March 20, 2021, at South Charleston High School, South Charleston, WV, following the Physical Ability Test. Due to COVID-19, CDC guidelines will be followed with social distancing and masks will be required for entry. 4) Successfully complete a thorough background investigation, medical examination, psychological examination and interview.
