BOX 69, , PAX, WV 25904 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 285.83 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number S300208 to Coal Surface Mine in the Chilton “R”, Chilton Rider, Chilton, Hernshaw, Upper Cedar Grove, Middle Cedar Grove, Lower Cedar Grove, Middle Cedar Grove, Lower Cedar Grove, Peerless, Upper 2 Gas, Lower 2 Gas, Powellton, Upper Eagle Rider, Upper Eagle, Eagle “A”, Eagle and Little Eagle seam of coal.
The operation is discharging into Unnamed Tributaries of Workman Creek and Workman Creek and Unnamed Tributaries of McDowell Branch and McDowell Branch All of Clear Fork of the Big Coal River of the Coal River of Kanawha River and is located 2.1 miles, southwest of Clear Creek in Clear Fork District of Raleigh County, Longitude 81deg. 21 ‘ 56 ” and Latitude 37deg. 53 ‘ 7 ” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until April 10, 2021, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication.
