LEGAL ADVERTISEMENT Auction of a New Home Constructed by the Students at the Fayette Institute of Technology The Fayette County Board of Education will sell, by sealed bid, a new home constructed by the students of the Fayette Institute of Technology at 245 Beech Avenue, Oak Hill, WV. Bids will be opened on Tuesday April 13, 2021 at 10:00am at the location of the home. The sale is subject to a minimum bid of $200,000.00. Open houses will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 8:00am to 12:00pm and on Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. School staff who participated in the construction will be available to answer questions regarding the construction. Sealed bids are due to The Fayette County Board of Education, c/o Paula Fridley, by 4:00pm Friday, April 9, 2021. It is the bidder’s responsibility to ensure that the bids are timely received; late bids will not be accepted or reviewed. The house and property are sold “as is”, with all faults. The Seller makes no warranties, express or implied, and disclaims all such warranties with the sole exception that the Seller will transfer any existing manufacturer’s warranties for presently installed new equipment and materials. Existing manufacturer’s warranty documents will be available at the site during the open house events. The successful bidder is required to pay ten percent of the bid price at the conclusion of the bid opening and further provide a letter from an official and legally constituted lending institution that certifies the successful bidder is pre-approved for financing for the balance of the sale price. Closing must occur within thirty days of the auction. In the event the sale is not completed with the highest bidder, the Seller reserves the right to offer the house and property to the next highest bidder willing to purchase the same at or above the reserved minimum bid. The Fayette County Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids if deemed in the best interest of the Board and to waive any irregularities or informalities in any proposal. The Fayette County Board of Education reserves the right to cease the bidding process at any time or withdraw from the process of culmination and closure of this transaction at any time and reschedule the sell date if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Board.
