REQUEST FOR ENGINEERING QUALIFICATIONS
The Town of Athens, Mercer County, West Virginia is in the process of obtaining qualifications from consulting engineering firms with particular expertise in the design and construction of Water Treatment Plants and storage facilities to perform a study evaluating our WTP, source water supply and treated water storage facilities and make a written report thereof to the Town. The study should be performed with the objective of identifying future modifications or upgrades to our plant which might improve throughput, efficiency, water quality and or facilitate maintenance. The report should be accessible to persons not familiar with water treatment, include a detailed description of current plant operation and any upgrades that may be undertaken in the future to improve overall operation as above. The selected firm will work closely with all team members, including the Town of Athens and Region I Planning & Development Council.
Procurement of said services shall be in accordance with West Virginia Code Chapter 5G. Consultants interested in being considered for this project must submit detailed qualifications including technical expertise, management and staffing capabilities, and examples of related prior experience with the objectives outlined above.

Attention is directed to the fact that the proposed project may be undertaken through funding sources including, but not limited to the HUD/Community Development Block Grant, Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), the Economic Development Administration (EDA), the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (WV DEP), USDA-RD, the West Virginia Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council, and the State Revolving Loan Fund.
