ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS The Sanitary Board of the City of Charleston 208 26th Street, West Charleston, WV 25387-1818 Sealed Bids for the 71st Street, Bakers Fork, and Bench Road Lift Station Improvements, Contract 20-1 will be received by The Sanitary Board of the City of Charleston (CSB) at its office located at 208 26th Street, West; Charleston, West Virginia 25387-1818 until 11:00 a.m. (local time), May 4, 2021 and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud. Any Bids received after the above time and date will be returned unopened to the Bidder. No conditional Bids will be accepted. The work covered by this Advertisement for Bids includes the following: Contract 20-1 – 71st Street, Bakers Fork, and Bench Road Lift Station Improvements For the 71st Street Lift Station, work includes: installing a new duplex submersible lift station; demolishing the existing “can-style” lift station; extension to existing force main; new generator; electrical improvements; and select demolition, together with necessary appertaining work. For the Bakers Fork Lift Station, work includes: converting existing emergency storage chamber into a duplex submersible wet well; converting the existing dry pit into a new valve vault; converting the existing wet pit into an influent manhole; storing and re-installing the existing bypass pump; electrical improvements; and site improvements, together with necessary appertaining work. For the Bench Road Lift Station, work includes: converting existing wet pit into a duplex submersible wet well; converting the existing dry pit into a new valve vault; storing and re-installing the existing bypass pump; electrical improvements; and site improvements, together with necessary appertaining work. ATTENDANCE BY ALL BIDDERS AT ALL LOCATIONS IS MANDATORY. Per the requirements of the Article 21-11-11 of the Code of the State of West Virginia, any Contractor submitting a Bid on this project will be required to certify, indicate, and acknowledge that he/she has a Contractor’s license from the State of West Virginia and meets all the qualifications required by the statutes of the State of West Virginia and the subdivision in which the Work is to be performed. Per the requirements of the Article 21-1D-5 of the Code of the State of West Virginia, any Contractor submitting a bid for a public improvement construction contract shall provide an affidavit of compliance that the Contractor has a written drug-free workplace policy. Failure to complete and submit the Drug Free Workplace Conformance Affidavit Form shall result in disqualification of the Bid. A cashiers check payable to “The Sanitary Board of the City of Charleston” or a Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and a Surety Company approved by the CSB, in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the Bid, shall be submitted with each Bid, to guarantee the Bidder’s entrance into a Contract, if given the award. Attention to the Bidders is called to the Instructions to Bidders, which are included in the Contract Documents. Successful Bidders shall be required to comply with all laws pertaining to minimum wage and discrimination of persons. The CSB reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and is not necessarily bound to accept the lowest Bid, if that Bid is contrary to the best interest of the CSB.
