PUBLIC NOTICE
NOTICE is hereby given that a competitive examination for the entry level position of Deputy Sheriff of Fayette County, West Virginia, shall be administered on the 11th day of May, 2021, at the hour of 6:00 p.m., at the Oak Hill High School Library, located at the intersection of Oyler Avenue and U.S. Route 19 in Oak Hill, West Virginia.
All persons interested intaking said examination must file a written application to take said examination on or before the 4th day of May, 2021, by the hour of 3:30 p.m. Applications forms for admission to this competitive examination may be obtained at the Fayette County Clerk’s Office in the Fayette County Courthouse between the hours of 8:00a.m. and 4:00p.m., as well as at the Fayetteville, Danese and Smithers detachments of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department. To request that an application be mailed to you, contact either the office of the Fayette County Clerk at (304)574-4225, or the Sheriff of Fayette County at (304)574-4216. Again, no application will be considered unless received in the Fayette County Clerk’s Office before 3:30 p.m. on May 4, 2021, regardless of postmark. Applications returned by mail should be mailed to: Office of the Fayette County Clerk, ATTN: Deputy Sheriffs’ Civil Service Commission, Fayette County Courthouse, P.O. Box 569, Fayetteville West Virginia 25840. Applications returned by mail should be mailed so as to be received prior to the aforementioned deadline; applications received after that deadline will not be considered.
