NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that MARFORK COAL COMPANY, LLC, PO BOX 457, WHITESVILLE, WV 25209 has submitted an application to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840 for a significant incidental boundary revision to Article 3 permit number U300118 in order to add an additional 65.20 acres of permit area currently bonded to Eagle Energy’s U-0034-83 that include an infrequently used access road in Logans Fork and an old mine faceup near Bandytown. As a result of this, area within 100 feet of WV Route 26 will be added in this application.
The revised permit will discharge into Marsh Fork & Elk Run; Big Jarrells Creek of Hopkins Fork; Browns Branch of West Fork of Pond Fork of Little Coal River; Logan Fork of Hopkins Fork of Laurel Creek; all of Big Coal River of Coal River (Receiving Stream) of Kanawha River (Major Subbasin) and is located 2.0 (miles), southwest (Direction) of Whitesville (Nearest PO), in the Crook, Sherman, Marsh Fork District of Boone and Raleigh Counties, Longitude 81o 32′ 18″ and Latitude 37o 57′ 21′ (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the surface mining application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until July 1, 2021, or thirty (30) days from date of final publication.
