Notice is hereby given that POCAHONTAS COAL COMPANY LLC, 109 APPALACHIAN DR, BECKLEY, WV 25801 has submitted an application with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840 for a Phase 1, 2 and 3 release on Permit Number O300716 issued for 2.07 acres.
The permit is located in Town/Slab Fork District of Raleigh County, 0.4 miles southeast (Direction) of Midway (Nearest PO) on Unnamed Tributaries of/and Soak Creek (Primary Receiving Stream) of Piney Creek (Secondary Receiving Stream) of Upper New River (Major Drainage Basin).
Pocahontas Coal Company LLC completed final reclamation on 5/28/2021 (Date) and is requesting release of 100 percent of the reclamation performance bond currently in the amount of $11,000.00.
Written comments will be received at the DEP address above until August 8th, 2021, or thirty (30) days from date of final publication.
