BOX 69, , PAX, WV 25904 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 864.05 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number S300115 to Coal Surface Mine in the HERNSHAW, CEDAR GROVE, PEERLESS, NO. 2 GAS, POWELLTON, EAGLE A, EAGLE, LITTLE EAGLE, AND ALL ASSOCIATED SPLITS seam of coal.
The operation is discharging into UNNAMED TRIBUTARIES OF/AND WORKMAN CREEK, UNNAMED TRIBUTARIES OF/AND STOVER FORK, AND UNNAMED TRIBUTARIES OF CLEAR FORK ALL OF CLEAR FORK OF BIG COAL RIVER OF COAL RIVER; AND UNNAMED TRIBUTARIES OF/AND WINGROVE BRANCH, UNNAMED TRIBUTARIES OF/AND DILLON BRANCH, UNNAMED TRIBUTARIES OF/AND BLACKBURN BRANCH, ALL OF SANDLICK CREEK OF MARSH FORK OF BIG COAL RIVER OF COAL RIVER of KANAWHA RIVER and is located 4.23 miles, SOUTHWEST of Clear Creek in Clear Fork District of Raleigh County, Longitude 81 deg. 21 ‘ 4 ” and Latitude 37 deg. 51 ‘ 16 ” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until September 3rd, 2021, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication. A copy of the application will be available for review until September 3rd, 2021 , or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication in the DEP Regional Office located at the address above and is available at:
