ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS ROANE COUNTY SCHOOLS ROANE COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA SAFE SCHOOL ENTRANCE & ROOF REPLACEMENT FOR SPENCER MIDDLE SCHOOL THRASHER PROJECT #060-0989 Sealed Bids for the Safe School Entrance Renovations and Roof Replacement for Spencer Middle School will be received will be received at the office of The Thrasher Group, Inc. located at 160 Association Drive, Charleston, WV 25311, until 1:00 pm, L.P.T., Thursday, December 2, 2021, for furnishing labor and materials and performing all Work set forth in the Contract Documents prepared by The Thrasher Group, Inc. Immediately following the scheduled closing time for the reception of Bids, all proposals which have been submitted in accordance with the conditions of the Contract Documents will be publicly opened and read aloud at 1:00 p.m., L.P.T. through live-stream. A link for the live-stream of the Bid Opening will be provided via Addendum. The Work to be Bid upon is generally described as follows: 1. Work of the Project includes an exterior concrete ramp and interior renovations to create a new safe school public entrance. The renovation work includes, but is not limited to, selective demolition, new lay-in acoustical tile ceiling, new floor tile, new doors and frame, painting, new lighting and associated mechanical and electrical Work. 2. The Project also involves roof repair and replacement which generally includes removal of an existing ballasted roofing systems, installation of a new EPDM roofing system and extensive repair Work to existing membrane roofs. The Work will be substantially completed 90 days from issuance of Notice to Commence with final completion 30 days after. Liquidated damages shall be $750 per day. Electronic sets of Bidding Documents may be obtained from QuestCDN.com $30.00. Amounts paid are not subject to refund. A two-envelope system will be used. Envelope No. 1 must have the following information presented on the front: Name and address of Bidder Bid on Safe School Entrance & Roof Replacement for Spencer Middle School Received by The Thrasher Group, Inc. on behalf of Roane County Board of Education Envelope No. 2 labeled “Bid Proposal” shall also be placed inside of Envelope #1. Envelope No. 1 will be opened first and the Bid Opening Requirement items checked for compliance as outlined on the Bid Opening Checklist on page BOR – 1 of these contract documents. If such documents are found to be in order, Envelope No. 2 “Bid Proposal”, will then be opened and will be publicly read aloud. If the documents required to be contained in Envelope No. 1 are not in order, Envelope No. 2 “Bid Proposal” will not be opened and the Bid will be considered non-responsive and will be returned to the Bidder. Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond payable to the Roane County Schools an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the Total Bid. Bidders must hold a current West Virginia contractor’s license on the date of Bid Opening. Bids received after the scheduled closing time for the reception of Bids will be returned unopened to the Bidders. Roane County Schools reserves the right to reject any and all Bids.
