Request for Proposals
The Wheeling Housing Authority is seeking bids from qualified companies to demolish a duplex located at 306/308 West Street, Wheeling, WV. The specified time for completion of all work under the contract will be 30 calendar days. The contractor shall perform or provide any and all professional services related to the project and will comply with the regulations, laws, ordinances and requirements of this type of project. The entire structure will be demolished and removed from the lot. This includes removal of basement walls, columns, etc. down to basement floor. Basement floor concrete to be busted up to allow water to drain through slabs. Backfill the area with suitable fill material. Do not use demolition material for fill. Roll and compact in four to five lifts. Bring fill elevation up to match existing adjacent finish grades. Provide positive drainage slope off site and seed.
WHA has had testing done and there is no asbestos. All applicable laws, ordinances and codes shall be followed for this project. The contractor will cap utilities/sewer lines in compliance with city code.
Sealed proposals are to be sent to Wheeling Housing Authority, attention Tammy Porter, PO Box 2089, Wheeling, WV 26003 with “West Street Project” marked on the envelope. Bids are due Friday, December 10, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at which time they will be publicly opened.
