Request for Bids
2022-2027Contract
The Board of Supervisors of Tazewell County, Virginia is currently accepting sealed bids from qualified contractors to perform Waste Collection at Tazewell County’s Eight Convenience Sites. Successful bidders would be awarded a five year contract for daily transport of waste from one, more than one, or all, of the eight sites located across the County, to the Tazewell County Municipal Landfill located on Lynn Hollow Road, west of Bluefield, Virginia. Bidders may submit bids for one, more than one, or a separate bid for all of the sites. The County may elect to accept the lowest bid for transporting from all sites or may award separate contracts for one or more of the sites, whichever is in the best interest of the county.
All those interested in bidding on the contract must attend a mandatory pre-bid conference meeting scheduled for December 6, 2021 at 10:00AM in the Tazewell County Administration Building Board Room, 197 Main Street, Tazewell, Virginia 24651. A package containing additional information, including the location of the Convenience sites will be provided at the time of the meeting.
Bids must be received no later than 10:00AM December 17, 2021 at which time the bids will be opened in the board room of the Tazewell County Administration Building. The envelope must be clearly marked “Waste Collection” and addressed to Kenneth Dunford Jr. Director of Engineering 173 Main Street, Tazewell VA 24651 Questions concerning the bid or pre-bid conference should be submitted by email to [email protected]. Successful bidders will be required to post a bond to secure their performance of the work. The Tazewell County Board of Supervisors reserves the right to waive any informality, to reject any and all bids if it appears in Tazewell County’s best interest to do so, and accept only that bid deemed to be in the best interest of Tazewell County, Virginia.
