Notice is hereby given that Panther Creek Mining, LLC, 250 W. Main Street, Suite 2000, Lexington, KY 40507 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 14.67 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number U-3019-06 to continue to operate a deep mine in the Eagle seam of coal.

The operation is discharging into Laurel Branch and Unnamed Tributaries of/and Armstrong Creek and Unnamed Tributaries of/and Sycamore Branch and Unnamed Tributaries of/and Laurel Branch of Paint Creek and Paint Creek all of Kanawha River and is located 2.03 (miles), Southwest of Powellton in Valley and Cabin Creek Districts of Fayette and Kanawha Counties, Longitude 81o 20′ 26″ and Latitude 38o 04′ 06″ (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Surface of the area associated herewith and Surface of the area within 100 feet of the permit area is owned by:
Quercus West Virginia, LLC P.O. Box 9162, Chapel Hill, NC 27515

*and the mineral associated herewith and the mineral within 100 feet of the permit area is owned by:
Pardee Minerals, LLC 1717 Arch Street, 33rd Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19103

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until January 22, 2022, or thirty (30) days from date of final publication. A copy of the application will be available for review until January 22, 2022, or thirty (30) days from date of final publication in the DEP Regional Office located at the address above and is available at:
