BEFORE THE FAYETTE COUNTY COMMISSION
FAYETTE COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA
AN ORDER APPROVING CREATION & CHANGING OF PRECINCTS
WHEREAS, the County Commission of Fayette County, sitting in regular session this 15th Day of December, 2021 does hereby adopt the following Redistricting plan based upon the redistricting efforts of the West Virginia State Legislature in accordance with WV State Code §1-2-2 and §1-2-2(b) and the most recently completed Census in accordance with WV State Code §7-2-2, and
WHEREAS, the County Commission has previously published said changes and solicited public input of said changes in accordance with said Code.
The New Haven Magisterial District shall consist of
Precincts 4, 9, 14, 51, 56, 58, 60,65,67, 68, 70, 72, 73, 74
The Plateau District shall consist of
Precincts 1, 2, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 52, 55
The Valley District shall consist of
Precincts 5, 17, 18, 19, 23, 26, 28, 29, 31, 42, 45, 46, 47, and
WHEREAS, Fayette County shall consist of three Executive Committee Districts (which shall elect 2 males and 2 females from each district in accordance with WV code §3-1-9(c)). The Executive Committee Districts shall be the same as the Magisterial Districts (comprised of the same precincts), and
WHEREAS, the attached precincts as described by census blocks shall become effective with this order.
NOW THEREFORE, Be It and It Is Hereby ordered that the following polling places be changed or new polling places be established:
Precinct 2 being newly created shall vote at Lochgelly Baptist Church
Precinct 7 being newly created shall vote at Fellowship Memorial Baptist Church
Precinct 8 shall now vote at Fayetteville PK-8 School
Precincts 9 & 10 shall now vote at New River Intermediate School
Precinct 13 shall now vote at Scarbro Headstart
Precinct 14 being newly created shall vote at Red Star Baptist Church
Precinct 16 being newly created shall vote at Lochgelly Baptist Church
Precinct 26, being combined with Precinct 32 and portions of Precinct
38 shall now vote at the Cannelton Local Union Hall
Precinct 31 being combined with portions of 38 shall now vote at Gauley
Bridge Elementary
Precinct 42 being combined with Precinct 41 shall now vote at the Page
Headstart
Precinct 60 being combined with Precinct 59 shall now vote at the
Midland Trail Community Center
Precinct 68 shall now vote at Meadow Bridge Elementary School
Precinct 70 being newly created shall vote at Chestnut Knob Baptist
Church
These changes are being made due to polling place availability, changes in precincts due to West Virginia State legislative redistricting, and the shift in population in accordance with the most recent Census. These shall be permanent changes effective with the entry of this order.
