NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS To maintain necessary clearances for safe and reliable electric service, Appalachian Power Company plans to manage vegetation along the Tackett Creek – Coal River portion of its 12 kilovolt distribution system in Kanawha County, WV. On or about January 17, 2022 contract crews will begin to trim and remove trees and brush and apply herbicides along our rights-of-way. Work will be done in accordance with International Society of Arboriculture guidelines and take into account factors such as tree species, growth characteristics, line voltage, etc. In unmaintained or undeveloped areas cuttings will remain on site so as to minimize soil disturbance and to promote biodegradation. Rights-of-way in this area involved in the program are: Swans Ln., Oliver St., Alice St., Smith St., Gallatin St., Byram St., Beverly St, Maryland Ave., 5th St. N., 6th St. N., W. Main St, Rust St., Rosedale Dr., Kanawha Dr. W., Keith St., Camden St., Virginia St. W., Central Ave., 1st,2nd and 3rd St. W., Coal River Rd., Carte St., Lore St., Fairview Dr., Barrett St., Martin St., Magnolia Dr., Lincoln Dr., Hamilton St., High St., Preston Ave., Shadyside Rd., Bryan Ave., Robinson Rd, and Highland St. Representatives will attempt to personally contact resident property owners at least seven business days prior to working on their property. Specifics regarding your property may be discussed at that time.
