Invitation to Bid R2200309- Horizontal Mine Shaft Construction Marshall University, on behalf of the Board of Governors, invites sealed bids to provide all work, including but not limited to labor, material, equipment, supplies and transportation for R2200309 – Horizontal Mine Shaft Construction, off campus in Huntington, WV. The scope of work includes construction of two horizontal underground mine shafts that connect at an observation room. This facility will be used for research purposes and will primarily be built within rock. The shafts will be approximately 6 feet wide and 6.5 feet tall and have a combined length of approximately 425 linear feet. The ancillary work includes, but is not limited to, construction layout, clearing and grubbing, gravel access road construction, electrical and ventilation installation, drainage installation, and seeding. A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at 10 a.m., LPT on February 3, 2022, at the Marshall University Student Center, Room 2W22, located at 1680 5th Avenue, WV. Also, the mandatory pre-bid meeting will be followed by a mandatory site visit, Directions to the site visit will be provided at the end of the mandatory pre-bid meeting Bidders must attend both the pre-bid meeting and site visit to familiarize themselves with the project location, site conditions, and other relevant information. Should any Bidder fail to attend their Bid will be disqualified. All technical questions must be submitted in writing to Angela White Negley via email at [email protected] by 9:00 a.m., LPT on February 7, 2022. Sealed bids shall be accepted until 3:00 p.m., LPT, on February 17, 2022. The bid opening will be broadcast via a Teams meeting at the following link: https://tinyurl.com/ R2200309-Horizontal- Mine- haft. At that time bids will be opened, read aloud, and recorded in the Office of Purchasing, Room 125, Old Main Building, Marshall University Campus. A $200.00 deposit is required for each set. Marshall University reserves the right to reject any/all bids.
