NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS To maintain necessary clearances for safe and reliable electric service, Appalachian Power Company plans to manage vegetation along the St. Albans – Tornado portion of its 12-kilovolt distribution system in Kanawha and Lincoln Counties, WV. On or about March 7, 2022 contract crews will begin to trim and remove trees and brush and apply herbicides along our rights-of-way. Work will be done in accordance with International Society of Arboriculture guidelines and take into account factors such as tree species, growth characteristics, line voltage, etc. In unmaintained or undeveloped areas, cuttings will remain on site to minimize soil disturbance and to promote biodegradation. Rights-of-way in this area involved in the program are: Browns Creek Rd., Angel Fork Rd., Woods Dr, Main Dr., Rock Camp Branch, Dry Ridge Rd., Smith Creek Rd., Hudson Valley Rd., Rocky Moore Rd., Coal River Rd., Vorpe Rd., Ferrell Rd., Wythal Rd., Heritage Dr., Lee Dr., Falls Creek Rd., Trace Fork Rd., Thomas Hollow Rd., Island Creek Rd., Spruce Rd., Upper Gore Addition, Buckner Rd., Upper Falls Rd., Cantrell Ln., and the community of Tornado. Representatives will attempt to personally contact resident property owners at least seven business days prior to working on their property.
