PO Box 457, Whitesville, WV 25209 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 17.36 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 254 Industrial Drive, Oak Hill, WV 25901, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number U-3013-99 to maintain an underground mine and its related facilities in the Powellton seam of coal. The operation is discharging into Slip Ridge Branch of Little Marsh Fork of Marsh Fork of Big Coal River of Little Coal River of Kanawha River and is located 2.0 miles, Southwest of Dorothy in Marsh Fork District of Raleigh County, Longitude 81 f 27′ 33″ and Latitude 37 f 55′ 28″ (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).
