Notice is hereby given that ALEX ENERGY, INC, PO BOX 857 SUMMERSVILLE, WV 26651 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately:
726 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP at 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840 ,for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number S301391to Operate a Surface Mine in the Coalburg, Stockton, Clarion, Kittanning and 5Block and all splits associated with these seam of coal. The operation is discharging into Wildcat Hollow, Right Fork, Road Fork and Unnamed Tributaries of Robinson Fork, Robinson Fork of Twentymile Creek and Jerry Fork of Peters Creek of the Gauley River of the Kanawha River and is located 2.7 Miles, NW of Drennen Post Office in Grant Jefferson District of Nicholas County, Longitude 80° 59’ 3.000 “ and Latitude 38° 18’ 41.000” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until 09/23/2017, or thirty (30) days from date of final publication. A copy of the application will be available for review until 09/23/2017, or Thiry (30) days from date of final publication in the DEP Regional Office located at the address above AND in the Nicholas County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours.
