ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT Davis Stuart, Inc. will accept sealed bids for the construction of the new Davis Stuart Dining Facility in Lewisburg, WV. The work to be bid is described as a single story 4,218 square foot new construction of a dining hall facility on the Davis Stuart School campus. The project site is located at the former basketball courts. Construction includes concrete spread foundations, CMU (concrete masonry unit) foundation walls, concrete slab on grade sub-floor, wood framed walls and pre-engineered wood trusses. Exterior finish materials include brick veneer and cement fiber vertical panels. The roof is comprised of both a metal roofing system and low slope membrane. Site work includes grading, utility work, asphalt paving and concrete walks. Kitchen equipment is included in the bid package as an add alternate. Sealed bids will be received by Davis Stuart, Inc., Greenbrier County, Lewisburg, WV at the current Davis Stuart, Inc. office at 163 Cottage Drive, Lewisburg, WV 24901 until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2016. Bids received after that time will be returned to the bidder unopened. The last time for questions will be at close of business on November 28, 2016 with the final addendum to be issued no later than close of business on November 29, 2016. The Work includes new building construction as documented in the drawings and specifications prepared by E.T. Boggess, Architect, Inc. All bids must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name “Davis Stuart Dining Facility”. Faxed bids will not be accepted. Bids may be mailed or delivered to the attention of Mark Spangler and Diane Lehr, Davis Stuart, Inc. office located at 163 Cottage Drive in Lewisburg, WV 24901, if received prior to bid date. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the President’s Executive Order No. 11246 which prohibits discrimination in employment with regards to race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. Bidders must comply with the requirements for Affirmative Action and Minority Business Enterprises participation. Bidders must comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act. Utilization of small businesses, minority owned firms, and women’s business enterprises are encouraged and will be considered in the contract award process. Consideration shall be given to such matters as contractor integrity, record of past performance, financial and technical resources or accessibility to other necessary resources.
