ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS RENOVATIONS TO BECKLEY-STRATTON MIDDLE SCHOOL Sealed proposals for: Renovations to Beckley-Stratton Middle School, Bid Item #1 General Trades, Bid Item #2 Windows Trades, Bid Item #3 Roofing Trades and Bid Item #4 Mechanical Trades (Mechanical / Plumbing / Fire Protection / Electrical) will be received by the Raleigh County Board of Education, at its Administrative Offices, Office of the Purchasing Director, 2001 South Kanawha Street, Beckley, West Virginia 25801, until 1:00 PM local time on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 (Bids received after this time will not be accepted); at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. After opening, the bids will be compared as to quality, thoroughness, and cost by the Owner, and Architect / Engineer (Silling Associates, Inc.) and the Construction Manager (Project and Construction Services, Inc.). Lump sum bids are being solicited for Work included in the above referenced Bid Items for the Project indicated. The contract documents may be obtained on or after, Monday, January 12, 2015 for purchase at cost plus applicable shipping fees at the office of Charleston Blueprint, 1203 Virginia Street East, Charleston, WV 25301, Phone: (304) 343-1063, Website: www.charlestonblueprint.com; The contract documents may be reviewed for bidding purposes without charge during business hours at the offices of the Architect and the Construction Manager. Contractors may purchase additional sets of drawings from Charleston Blueprint at their own expense. Contractors purchasing additional bidding documents are also responsible for obtaining and purchasing copies of any and all addenda, including any shipping or handling costs. This is a Multiple Prime Contractor project, with an option for a combined Single Prime Contractor. Project and Construction Services, Inc., the Construction Manager; and Silling Associates, the Architect, will conduct a MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Beckley-Stratton Middle School, 401 Grey Flats Road, Beckley, WV 25801; all interested Prime Contractor bidders are REQUIRED to attend. Interested sub-contractors and material suppliers are also encouraged to attend. The purpose of the pre-bid conference is to familiarize the Bidders with bidding requirements and to answer questions regarding the Bidding Documents. Project and Construction Services, Inc. & Silling Associates will lead a walk-around of the work areas at Beckley-Stratton Middle School following the Pre-Bid Meeting. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, executed by the Bidder and an acceptable Surety, in an amount equal to 5{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c} of the bid. No bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the bid opening.
