ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Alterations and Additions to the Senior Center, Beckley, WV NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Raleigh County Commission on Aging, Inc. (RCCOA) located in Beckley, WV, will accept sealed bids for alterations and additions to the existing Senior Center building located at 1614 South Kanawha Street, Beckley, WV. This includes the addition of approximately 4,000 square feet of office space as a new one-story building adjacent to the southern portion of the existing two-story building. Also included is the addition of a fire rated corridor of approximately 1,400 square feet along the eastern side of the exiting building. Sealed bids will be received by the Raleigh County Commission on Aging, Inc., 1614 South Kanawha Street, Beckley, WV 25801 until 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2015. All sealed bids will be opened and read aloud at the Senior Center. Bids received after that time will not be accepted. Interested parties are invited to attend. Prospective bidders may purchase copies of Contract Documents from: Charleston Blueprint 1203 Virginia Street East Charleston, WV 25302 (304) 343-1063 A pre-bid conference will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the Senior Center building located at 1614 South Kanawha Street, Beckley, WV. The Pre-Bid is mandatory. A certified check or bank draft, payable to Raleigh County Commission on Aging, Inc., or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and acceptable sureties in an amount equal to five percent (5{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c}) of the bid must be submitted with each bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory performance and payment bonds signed by a West Virginia agent. The Raleigh County Commission on Aging, Inc. will negotiate with the contractor to determine the method of contract security best suited for the project. Bids must be made on a lump sum basis. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the President’s Executive Order No. 11246, which prohibits discrimination in employment regarding race, color, creed, sex or national origin. Bidders must comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Anti-Kickback Act, the Contract Work Hours Standard Act, The Davis-Bacon Act and the State of West Virginia wage rates. Bidders must comply with the requirements for affirmative action and Minority Business Enterprise participation as described in the Contract Documents. Special provisions will be made by the bidder to show what portions of the bid within each division are supported by Minority Business Enterprise work. In addition, may obtain, upon request, information concerning local MBE firms. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days after the time of bid opening without the consent of the Owner.
