Separate sealed Bids for the Water Tank Rehabilitation project, for the Buchanan County Public Service Authority, which consists of the following:
Contract I: Water tank rehabilitation of three existing steel water storage tanks including installation of trihalomethane removal systems and associated electrical improvements and interior painting of two of the tanks;
Contract II: Water tank rehabilitation of two existing glass-fused steel water storage tanks including installation of trihalomethane removal systems and associated electrical improvements;
will be received by Robert Anderson, Executive Director, at the BCPSA office located at 1023 Old Benns Branch Road, Oakwood, VA 24631 until 2:00 P.M., local prevailing time, on July 31, 2019, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.
The Contract Documents may be examined at the BCPSA at 1023 Old Benns Branch Road, Oakwood, VA; at Thompson & Litton, 103 E. Main Street, Wise, VA; and online at TRASCO (http://www.trascoplanroom.com).
Copies of the Contract Documents (electronic and/or hard copy) are available for purchase through TRASCO at http://www.trascoplanroom.com.
A mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held on July 17, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. All interested parties are requested to meet the Engineer at 1023 Old Benns Branch Road, Oakwood, VA 24631 at that time.
Withdrawal of bids shall be according to procedure (i) of the Virginia Public Procurement Act and to the Code of Virginia ( 2.2-4330).
Bids must be accompanied by Bid security as specified in the Instructions to Bidders.
Each Bidder must be licensed as a Class A contractor in the State of Virginia; Bidders are instructed to review the Code of Virginia, Title 54.1, Chapter 11, prior to bidding.
MBE/WBE firms are encouraged to submit bids. Bidders must comply with the following: the President’s Executive Order #11246 prohibiting discrimination in employment regarding race, color, creed, sex, or national origin; the President’s Executive Orders #12138 and 11625 regarding utilization of MBE/WBE firms; the Civil Rights Act of 1964; the Davis-Bacon Act; and Section 436 of P. L. 113-76, American Iron and Steel. Bidders must certify that they do not or will not maintain or provide for their employees any facilities that are segregated on the basis of race, color, creed, or national origin.
The Owner does not discriminate against faith-based organizations in accordance with the Code of Virginia, 2.2-4343.1.
The Contract shall be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids if it appears in its best interest to do so.
