ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT The Greenbrier Valley Economic Development Corporation will accept sealed bids for Renovations to the Rahall Technology & Business Center, located at 804 Industrial Park, Maxwelton, WV.

The scope of work is described as miscellaneous renovations and building improvements to existing exterior and interior space. Work includes roofing, sitework, pavement, sidewalks, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, metal studs, and finishes.

Sealed bids will be received by the Greenbrier Valley Economic Development Corporation (GVEDC) at their offices within the Rahall Technology & Business Center at 804 Industrial Park, Suite 5, Maxwelton, WV, 24957 until 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 11, 2019. Bids received after that time will be returned to the bidder unopened. All sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the offices of the GVEDC immediately following the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. Interested parties are invited to attend.

The Work includes renovations to the existing building as documented in the drawings and specifications prepared by E.T. Boggess Architect, Inc. All bids must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name “Greenbrier Valley Economic Development Corp – Renovations” Faxed bids will not be accepted. Bids may be mailed or delivered to J. Andrew Hagy, Executive Director, 804 Industrial Park, Suite 5, Maxwelton, WV 24957, if received prior to bid date.

Bidders on this work may not discriminate in employment with regards to race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. Bidders must comply with the requirements of all applicable state and federal laws. Bidders must also comply with West Virginia Code 21-1D-5 requiring a Drug Free Workplace. Funding for the project has been made available through a grant from the West Virginia Economic Development Authority. Region Four Planning and Development Council is administering the grant.

Each bidder will be required to furnish a certified check or bank draft payable to the Greenbrier Valley Economic Development Corporation or a Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and a grantee Bidder and a Bidder surety company approved by the Greenbrier County Economic Development Corporation in an amount equal to five percent (5{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c}) of the total projected cost of the work, materials and labor, plus proposed fee, which shall be submitted with each Bid to guarantee the Bidder’s entrance into a Contract, if given the award. No Bid shall be waived or returned because the Bidder failed to or cannot comply with any requirements as set forth in the Plans, Specifications, or any applicable statutes of the United States, the State of West Virginia and/or local ordinances.

All bids must be submitted in accordance with the Bidding Documents issued by the Architect and the Form of Proposal.

To obtain Construction Documents, please contact E.T. Boggess Architect, Inc., 101 Rockledge Avenue, Princeton, WV 24740, (304-425-4491). The cost for printed bid documents is $300.00 and is nonrefundable and does not include deliver costs, which will be included in final price. The cost for a CD is $50.00 and is nonrefundable.

A mandatory, pre-bid walk-thru conference will be held at the site located at 804 Industrial Park, Maxwelton, WV on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. All general contractors bidding the project must attend the pre-bid meeting to familiarize themselves with the project location, site conditions and other relevant information.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities therein.

No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the time of opening of the bids.

All bidders will be required to certify, indicate and acknowledge that he/she has all appropriate licenses and meets all qualifications required by the laws, regulations, and ordinances of the State of West Virginia, County of Greenbrier and the Town of Maxwelton. The successful bidder will be required to provide a Performance and Payment Bond equal to 100{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c} of the contract value.
