The Monroe County Board of Education Union, WV will receive bids for James Monroe High School Renovations that include a new safe schools entry, new intercom system, new exterior lighting and exterior masonry restoration until 1:30 p.m., local prevailing time on the 15th day of May, 2019, at the office of the Monroe County Board of Education, 9875 Willow Bend Road, Union, WV, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud
A MANDATORY Pre-Bid Conference, for General Construction has been scheduled for the 30th day of April, 2019 at 1:00 p.m., at James Monroe High School, 74 James Monroe Drive, Lindside, WV.
The contract documents including plans and specifications are on file at the Office of the Board of Education; Office of Williamson Shriver Architects, 717 Bigley Avenue, Charleston, WV 25302; Pittsburgh Builder’s Exchange, Pittsburgh, PA; Ohio Valley Construction Employer’s Council, Inc., Wheeling, WV; Contractor’s Association of West Virginia, Charleston, WV; Kanawha Valley Builders Association, Charleston, WV; Construction Employers Association of NC West Virginia, Fairmont, WV; and Parkersburg / Marietta Contractors Association, Parkersburg, WV.
The contract documents may be purchased at cost plus applicable shipping fees from Charleston Blueprint, 1203 Virginia Street East, Charleston, WV 25301, Phone: (304) 343-1063, Website: www.
charlestonblueprint.com. Each contractor purchasing documents will receive printed paper documents as well as an electronic (PDF format) version. Any future addenda will be distributed electronically from the Architect via email only to bidders registered in attendance at the mandatory pre-bid meeting. Contractors desiring paper copies of addenda are responsible for obtaining and purchasing copies from Charleston Blueprint at cost plus applicable shipping or handling costs. Bidders are advised that, in the event of discrepancies between the printed documents and the electronic documents, the printed physical documents are considered the prevailing “Bid Documents”.
Each Bidder must be registered with the West Virginia Department of Tax and Revenue prior to the time and date for Receipt of Bids in order for his Bid to be considered. Each Bidder’s registration certificate number shall be written in the space provided on the Form of Proposal.
All bidders are required to be licensed to perform work in the State prior to submitting a bid for this project as required by Chapter 21, Article 11, of the Code of West Virginia. Each Bidder’s Contractor license number shall be written in the space provided on the Form of Proposal.
The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
A satisfactory bid bond furnished by a solvent surety company authorized to do business in the State of West Virginia, in an amount equal to five (5{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c}) of the total amount of bid, payable to the Monroe County Board of Education, shall be submitted with each Bid.
Each (The) successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and Payment Bond and the fee for same shall be included in their bid.
No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for at least 30 days.
