ADVERTISEMENT FOR SEALED BIDS Sealed Bids will be received by the City of Lewisburg at 942 Washington Street West, Lewisburg, WV 24901, at the specified dates and times for the following work: City of Lewisburg Masonry Facility Signs Project until 11:00 A.M. on June 3, 2026. The Total Base Bid shall include all costs associated with furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment and performing all work set forth in the Contract Documents. Immediately following the scheduled closing time, all Bids submitted in accordance with the conditions of the Contract Documents will be publicly opened and read aloud. Generally, the work is described as follows: The project will construct two masonry sign columns/planters with cast-stone architectural caps. Work also includes minor drainage, landscaping, and electrical work. The Contract Time for Substantial Completion is 90 calendar days. The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is Chapman Technical Group. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Failure of any Bidder to purchase Bidding Documents from the Architect prior to submitting a Bid shall result in the rejection of said Bid. The Bidding Documents consist of the Project Manual and Project Plans and are available digitally for purchase at http://www.chaptech.com/plan-room upon the non-refundable payment of $100. Printed copies will be mailed to the Bidder. The bid opening procedure shall be a two-envelope system. Supporting bid documents will be placed in one envelope, and the executed Bid Form in a separately sealed envelope. The lowest responsive Bidder shall be the Bidder who has provided all the Supporting Documents and has the lowest base bid. Bidders on this Work are required to comply with WV Code 30-42-12 and shall include a copy of their valid and current WV State Contractor's License in the first envelope. Failure to submit said License in Envelope #1 shall result in disqualification of the Bid. Additionally, all Subcontractors shall provide a copy of their WV State Contractor's License to the Contractor prior to Contract Award. All questions must be submitted, in writing, by 3:00 PM on May 15, 2026, to allow for addenda, if needed. No questions after such date will be answered. Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the Base Bid to ensure the execution of the contract for which the Bid is made. In the case the Bid is not accepted, the Bond shall be returned to the Bidder, but if the Bid is accepted and the Bidder refuses or neglects to enter into a Contract with the Owner within fifteen (15) days of the date of the Notice of Award, the said Bond shall be forfeited to the Owner as liquidated damages for the failure to do so.
