SALE OF CITY PROPERTY
SEPTEMBER 12, 2022

The City Council of Parsons, Tucker County, West Virginia (“City Council”), has authorized the sale by sealed bid of a parcel of real estate (the “Property”) as described below:

The City will accept sealed bids for the Property until 3:00 P.M. (EDT), Friday, September 30, 2022, at the office of Mrs. Agnes A. Arnold, City Administrator, First Floor, Charles W. “Bill” Rosenau Municipal Building, 341 Second Street, Parsons, West Virginia. At 3:01 P.M. (EDT) on Friday, September 30, 2022, all bids received shall be opened in public and the amount of each bid announced and recorded.
The City Council has established a minimum bidding reserve of $2,000.00 for the Property. They will determine the highest responsible bidder for the Property and will award the bid at their regular meeting at 6:00 P.M. (EDT) on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. The Property is being sold “as is, where is” and with no warranty of title. Bids will remain open and subject to acceptance until the City Council awards the bid.
Each bid must be accompanied by a bid deposit of five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. A bid deposit may take the form of cash, a cashier’s check, a certified check, or a surety bond made payable to the City of Parsons. The deposit of the bidder to whom the award is made will be held until sale of the Property is closed; if that bidder refuses at any time to close the sale, the deposit will be forfeited to the City.

The deposits of other bidders will be returned at the time the City Council awards the Property to the highest responsible bidder.
The City reserves the right to withdraw the Property from sale at any time and the right to reject all bids.
