Notice is hereby given that POCAHONTAS COAL COMPANY LLC, 109 Appalachian Drive, Beckley, WV 25801 has submitted an application to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Division of Mining and Reclamation (DMR) located at 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840 for an Article 3 permit for the surface disturbance of approximately 147.54 acres in order to construct haul roads in the Not Applicable — N/A seam of coal. The proposed operation is discharging into unnamed tributaries of/and Allen Creek; unnamed tributaries of Winding Gulf; unnamed tributaries of Guyandotte River; all of Guyandotte River of Ohio River and is located 0.86 miles northeast of Wyco in Slab Fork District of Raleigh and Wyoming Counties, Longitude 81deg. 19′ 57″ Latitude 37deg. 36′ 41″.

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the surface mining application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until October 18, 2019, or thirty (30) days from date of final publication. A copy of the application will be available for review until October 18, 2019 or thirty (30) days from date of final publication in the DEP Regional Office located at the address above AND in the Raleigh and Wyoming County Clerks’ Offices during normal business hours.
