Notice is hereby given that Marfork Coal company, LLC, PO Box 457, 370 Packsville/Marfork Road, Whitesville, WV 25209 has submitted an application to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Division of Mining and Reclamation (DMR) located at 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840 for an Article 3 permit for the surface disturbance of approximately 5.48 acres in order to Face-up and operate a deep Mine in the Upper Cedar Grove—Kanawha seam of coal. The proposed operation is discharging into Ellis Creek of Marsh Fork of Big Coal River of Coal River of Kanawha River and is located 2.29 miles, northwest of Naoma in Marsh Fork District of Raleigh County, Longitude 81deg. 30′ 31″, Latitude 37deg. 53′ 41″.
