Notice is hereby given that MABEN COAL LLC, ONE CARBON CENTER, 13905 MACCORKLE AVENUE, SUITE 501, CHARLESTON, WV 25315 has submitted an application to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Division of Mining and Reclamation (DMR) located at 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840 for an Article 3 permit for the surface disturbance of approximately 197.19 acres in order to Highwall and Contour mine (SMA No. S300519) in the Sewell seam of coal.
The proposed operation is discharging into unnamed tributaries of Allen Creek, Left Fork of Allen Creek; Right Fork of Cedar Creek, unnamed tributaries of/and Cedar Creek; unnamed tributaries of/and Slab Fork of Guyandotte River and is located 5.30 miles northeast of Mullens in Slab Fork District of Raleigh and Wyoming Counties, Longitude 81deg. 22′ 10″ and Latitude 37deg. 38′ 43″.
