Notice is hereby given that BROOKS RUN SOUTH MINING, LLC, PO BOX 40, , WHARNCLIFFE, WV 25651 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 45.38 acres and has submitted an application to the WV DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number U301512 to Operate a Coal Underground Mine in the Pocahontas 3 seam of coal.
The operation is discharging into Unnamed tributaries of Shop Branch and Shop Branch of Little Indian Creek of Guyandotte River and Unnamed tributaries of Big Branch and Big Branch of Guyandotte River and Guyandotte River and is located 1.98 miles, Southwest of Marianna in Center District of Wyoming County, Longitude 8137’02” and Latitude 3734’21” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until May 24, 2020, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication.
