Box 150, Smithers Creek Road, Cannelton, WV 25036 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 26.36 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 254 Industrial Drive, Oak Hill, WV 25901, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number U-3005-04 to coal underground in the Middle Coalburg seam of coal. The operation is discharging into Fourmile Fork, Threemile Creek, Twomile Creek, Blake Branch and Unnamed Tributaries of Smithers Creek; Smithers Creek of the Kanawha River; and is located 2.1 (miles), Southeast of Cannelton in Valley District of Fayette County, Longitude 81 f 15 ‘ 30 “and Latitude 38 f 11 ‘ 14 ” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).
