The Marion County Commission will receive sealed Bids for the Middletown Commons Redevelopment Project No. 1 Contract 2-A Electrical and Communications Conduit Project until 10:30 AM, Wednesday, January 22nd, 2020 at the Marion County Commission Office, 200 Jackson Street, Room 403, Fairmont, WV, 26554. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud following the Marion County Commission meeting.
The work includes construction of approximately 1,900 linear feet of 6-inch, 750 linear feet of 4-inch, 6,100 linear feet of 3”, and 5,600 linear feet of 1 1/2-inch Schedule 40 conduit, transformer pads, secondary pedestals, sweeps, fittings and associated appurtenances for the Middletown Commons Redevelopment Project No. 1 located in Whitehall, WV.
A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at the work site on Friday, January 17th, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. All prospective bidders must be present at the pre-bid meeting to be eligible to submit a bid.
Bids are to be submitted in accordance with Article 13 of the “Instructions to Bidders.” The two-envelope system will be used for the Bid opening procedures. All Bids submitted via U.S. Postal service must be addressed to the Marion County Commission Office, 200 Jackson Street, Room 403, Fairmont, WV, 26554. All Bids hand-delivered or submitted via commercial carrier (such as UPS or Federal Express) must be addressed to Marion County Commission Office, 200 Jackson Street, Room 403, Fairmont, WV, 26554.
Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office which is Cheat Road Engineering, Inc., 5011 Mid Atlantic Drive, Morgantown, West Virginia 26508, (304) 212-5480. A nonrefundable fee of $100.00 will be required for Bidding Documents including full-sized drawings. Overnight mailing of Bidding Documents will not be provided.

No Bid will be received unless accompanied by a Bid Bond equal to at least five percent of the Bid, payable to the Owner, General Acquisitions, LLC, as a guarantee that after a Bid is accepted, Bidder will execute and file the Agreement, Insurance Certificate, and 100{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c} Performance and Payment Bonds within fifteen days after the Notice of Award. Bids will be accepted from only those Bidders who obtain Documents from the Owner.
Prevailing wages are not required to be paid by the Bidders.
The Marion County Commission and Owner reserve the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive any informality and/or technicality, and to accept any Bid which it deems advantageous. All Bids shall remain subject to acceptance for 90 days after the time set for opening Bids.
Any Contractor submitting a Bid on this project hereby certifies, indicates, and acknowledges that he/she has a Contractor’s license from the State of West Virginia and meets all the qualifications required by the statutes of the State and local jurisdictions in which the work is to be performed.
