Notice is hereby given that Republic Energy, LLC., P.O. Box 69, 622 Pax Branch Road, Pax, WV 25904 has submitted an application to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Division of Mining and Reclamation (DMR) 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840 for a Incremental Bond Releases to Article 3 permit number S-3001-15, which includes Phase I release on Increment 2 issued for 157.37 acres where backfilling and grading was completed on 4/9/2026, Phase I release on Increment 3 issued for 52.43 acres where backfilling and grading was completed on 5/1/2020, Phase III release of Increment 4 issued for 26.33 acres which was never disturbed, and Phase I release of Increment 5 issued for 70 acres where backfilling and grading was completed on 4/9/2026.
The permit is located in Clear Fork District of Raleigh County, 4.23 miles southwest of Clear Creek on unnamed tributaries of Workman Creek, unnamed tributaries of/and Stover Fork, and unnamed tributaries of Clear Fork of the Big Coal River of the Coal River; and unnamed tributaries of Wingrove Branch, unnamed tributaries of/and Dillon Branch, unnamed tributaries of unnamed tributaries of/and Blackburn Branch, of Sandlick Creek of Marsh Fork of Big Coal River of Coal River.
Republic Energy, LLC is requesting release of 60% of reclamation bond on Phase I releases which total $646,680 for Increments 2, 3, and 5, and 100% of bond associated with the Phase III release which totals $61,560.
