AIR QUALITY PERMIT NOTICE – Comment Period

AIR QUALITY PERMIT NOTICE

Notice of Application Notice is given that J.F. Allen Company has applied to the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Quality, for a G40‐C General Permit Modification for nonmetallic mineral processing facilities located on MacCorkle Avenue, in South Charleston, Kanawha County, West Virginia.   The latitude and longitude coordinates are: The center of the Site is located at Latitude 38.361568 ° N and Longitude ‐81.708194 ° W.

The applicant estimates that the increased potential to discharge the following Regulated Air Pollutants will be:

Nitrogen Oxides: 1.34 tons/year

Carbon Monoxide: 12.91 tons/year

Total Organic Compounds: 0.64 tons/year

Sulfur Oxides: 3.14 tons/year

Particulate Matter: 24.26 tons/year

Particulate Matter – 10: 9.14 tons/year

Carbon Dioxide Equivalents – 1772 tons/year

Formaldehyde – 0.01278 tons/year

Total Hazardous Air Pollutants – 0.03 tons/year

The potential increase in emissions from the operating equipment and transfer points were determined to be 13.09 tons/year and fugitive emissions from haul roads are estimated to be 11.11 tons/year.   Startup of operation is planned to begin on or about the 10th day of February, 2022.

Written comments will be received by the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Quality, 601 57th Street, SE, Charleston, WV  25304, for at least 30 calendar days from the date of publication of this notice.
