ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
CITY OF BLUEFIELD PAVING AND MILLING EXTENSIONS OF STREET AND PART OF STREETS.

The City of Bluefield, West Virginia will receive sealed proposals at the Office of the City Clerk, 200 Rogers Street, Bluefield WV 24701 until 4:00 P.M. local time June 4, 2018.

The Clerk’s Office will be open from 8:00 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. for the purpose of receiving bids on this date. On June 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 200 Rogers Street, Bluefield, West Virginia, and the sealed bids will be opened and read aloud in Board Chambers.

Note: Street and parts of streets will begin at the end of the Sanitary Board work limits.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

1. Milling and resurfacing the following street and parts of streets:

A. From a joint at Maryland Avenue approximately 167 ft. to a joint on Maryland Avenue going toward Whitethorn School, beginning from the end of the Sanitary Board work limits.
B. From a joint on College, at the end of Sanitary Board work limits, approximately 315 ft. to joint on College Avenue.
C. From the intersection of College Avenue and Walton Avenue approximately 25 ft. to a joint on Walton Avenue.
D. Walton Avenue between Augusta Street and College Avenue approximately 329 ft.
E. Part of Augusta Street from the intersection of Maryland Avenue approximately 84 ft. to a joint on Augusta Street going East.
F. Part of Augusta Street from the intersection of Maryland Avenue to a joint on Augusta Street going West approximately 78ft.
G. From a joint on Maryland Avenue beginning at the end of the Sanitary Board, work limits approximately 425ft. North to a designated joint on Maryland Avenue.
2. Installation of four (4) traffic loops.

NOTE: ALL STREETS, ALLEYS, AND LOTS MUST BE TACKED. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO THE DRAINAGE CULVERTS.

The City of Bluefield is seeking sealed bids for the paving and/or resurfacing of certain areas in Bluefield.

Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained from the City Engineer, P. O. Box 4100, Bluefield, West Virginia 24701 upon payment of the nonrefundable amount of $10.00 per set.

Contractors must be prequalified for this type of work by the West Virginia Department of Highways or the Virginia Department of Transportation.

The City of Bluefield reserves the right to waive any informality in the Bid and to reject any and all bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids with or without cause.
