Notice of Intent to File Application
The USDA, Rural Utilities Service has received an application for financial assistance from Birch River PSD. The purpose of this notice is to inform the public of the proposed water project, which will consist of extending water service to approximately 50 new customers in the Wilson Ridge and Rockcamp areas of Clay/Nicholas counties. It will also improve water pressure for approximately 109 existing customers located along County Routes 11 and 1. Included in the project is the construction of a booster station, pressure reducing station, and storage tank. The project does not currently involve extending waterline into Braxton County along County Route 54, however it has been included in the study area.
This notice is also to inform the public of a public meeting to be held on Friday, October 9, at 12:00 noon, at the PSD office in Birch River. The purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity to become acquainted with the proposed project and to comment on economic and environmental impacts, service area, or alternatives to the project.
