Building Commission – Open Positions

The City of Ranson is accepting applications for two separate terms on the Building Commission. One term will expire on June 30, 2027, and the other on December 31, 2027. This Commission is responsible for overseeing the construction, maintenance, and, when necessary, the acquisition and disposal of city buildings and properties. Its duties include ensuring that projects meet quality standards, managing budgets, and complying with applicable regulations. To be eligible for appointment, applicants must meet the following criteria: no more than two-thirds of the Commission’s members may belong to the same political party; members may not hold any office or employment under the United States government, the state, any county or political subdivision, or any political party (except the office of notary public). All members must be residents of the municipality they represent and may not be employed by the City of Ranson.

Qualified residents of Ranson who are interested in serving on the Commission must complete an application form available at www.ransonwv.gov any other supporting materials that demonstrate their qualifications to serve can be submitted.  Materials should be submitted to [email protected]   A hard copy may also be mailed or delivered to his attention at City of Ranson, 312 S. Mildred Street, WV 25438.  This position is open until it is filled.
