City of Ranson Planning Commission – Open Position
The City of Ranson is accepting applications for a position on the Planning Commission for a term beginning July 2025 and ending December 31, 2026. The Planning Commission is composed of five individuals and serves as an advisory body responsible for reviewing and making recommendations on land use, development, and zoning matters. Members must be residents of the municipality and possess knowledge and experience related to municipal development. At least three-fifths of the members must have resided in Ranson for a minimum of three years prior to nomination, appointment, and confirmation. One member of the Commission must be a current City Council member or their designer, appointed by the City Council, and one member must be appointed by the City Manager to represent the administrative department, in accordaance with W. Va. Code § 8A-2-3(d). The council member’s term on the Commission shall coincide with their term in office. The remaining three members shall be nominated and confirmed by City Council and must not be employed by the City of Ranson.
Qualified residents of Ranson who are interested in serving on the Commission must complete an application form available at www.ransonwv.gov any other supporting materials that demonstrate their qualifications to serve can be submitted.
