GREENBRIER COUNTY COMMISSION
NOTICE OF INTENT TO INCREASE
REAL PROPERTY EXCISE TAX
On Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. the Greenbrier County Commission shall conduct a public hearing to discuss a fifty-five cent increase on the real estate property excise (transfer) tax to an amount equal to $1.65 for each $500 value. The hearing will take place in the Main Courtroom in the Greenbrier County Courthouse, 912 Court Street N., Lewisburg, WV 24901. Any person interested may appear before the County Commission and present comments with regard to the proposal to increase the property transfer tax. Anyone desiring to file written protest may do so prior to the beginning of the public hearing on September 26, 2017. All protests should briefly state the reason for the protest and should be addressed to Woody Hanna, County Commission President, 912 Court Street N., Lewisburg, WV 24901. Immediately following the public hearing the County Commission will consider and vote on the increase.
